With over 13 years of experience, Nick Schilling’s main focus is coaching advisors on how to best incorporate comprehensive wealth management into their practices.

Nick received his undergraduate degree in business administration from North Dakota State University and his MBA in consulting and strategic management from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business.

Nick began his career with Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Under the Allianz umbrella, he had the opportunity to work across multiple departments, including operations, product distribution process management, broker-dealer and Registered Investment Adviser supervision, and sales.

In 2008, Nick relocated to Kansas to manage the branch office and office of supervisory jurisdiction (OSJ) of a large broker-dealer within a financial marketing organization. That experience gave Nick the opportunity to coach financial advisors on how to best construct holistic, customized financial strategies, create and grow their practice by developing complementary revenue streams and working with higher-net-worth families.

Nick joined Advisors Excel in January 2012 and helped establish the AE Wealth Management platform from its beginning. In his current role as chief distribution officer, he focuses on establishing the platform’s investment discipline, marketing, advisor coaching and client communication. Nick’s team works closely with advisors to walk through investment options tailored to their client’s individual financial goals.
